Over the next, while I’ll try to share with you what I’m doing different based on what I learned at the RWA conference.

The first thing I’m doing different is:

I’m plotting in advance more. I can’t say that I’m doing well in this area yet but I’m spending time in what I call preproduction figuring out how the novel is going to come together.

Why have I done this?

I’m hoping it will reduce my rewrites. Part of me knows this is wishful thinking because I’m a firm believer in rewriting right up until the you send back the source file the editor gets.

This probably makes me a horrible person but it isn’t over until the Chief Editor sings in my humble opinion.

How’s that (plotting / planning) working for me?

It’s helping me plot the next books in the series I’m working on. At this point I don ‘t feel my creative process is hindered but I’m currently in an edit and critique mode. Not so much writing new material.

I have the concepts behind two new series one is a Dark Fantasy called KINGDOM, which I’m considering six volumes to.

The other is a two book superhero style novels the first KNIGHT RAVEN and the second KNIGHT SHADOW.
