This weekend I took some time to search the web for storyboards. I’ve worked in TV before so I’m familiar with them but I want something simple that will work for me. I didn’t find one.

I want a template that has the following things.

A number of bigger boxes each that will represent a scene and will have a smaller box in the upper left hand corner for the scene number.

Scene

Point of view:

Who is in the scene:

 Location:

            Time line:

            Date:

            Time of day:

Main plot: (Info revealed. Character development.)

         Tension drivers:

 Secondary plot(s): (Info revealed. Character development.)

Series:

            Plot: (Info revealed. Character development.)

            Character(s):

I figured I’d turn creating what I need into a blog entry. I’m going to use this to work on the outline of my next plot. I’m going to start with something small to get my feet wet. CHOCOLATE DAMSEL is a 14,000-word short that I wrote over two weeks in the spring. I have a sequel in mind called CHOCOLATE TEMPTATION.

I’ll keep you in the loop about how this is working for me. I’m going to try to upload a word document for download in case you might find my storyboard template useful. Once I do, I’ll add the pointer here:storyboard-scene-box

Odd for me to be blogging my own site on Monday but today on Nights of Passion you can read and maybe win an autographed copy of Gothic Victorian Romance Author Leanna Renee Hieber book THE STRANGELY BEAUTIFUL TALE OF MISS PERCY PARKER
