Mason’s strange

Okay so as the title suggests I’m going to tell you a strange fact about myself.

I don’t like heights. One of the characters in my up coming release doesn’t like heights either. Here comes the strange part. I have every intension to go paragliding. And when I was in Belgium in 2006 I didn’t let that fact stop me from going up into the Atomium. A monument built for Expo ’58, the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair. Designed by André Waterkeyn. http://www.atomium.be/

I’ll try an share a strange piece of information about myself that maybe found in my writing over the coming weeks as we move up to the release of Aequitas I Betrayal.

To answer a recent question about my copy edits

What kinds of edits did they ask you for? Anything major.

Thanks for the question Rebecca.

To be perfectly honest with you, I wasn’t sure how to answer your question specifically at first.  I can now tell you. No, none of my changes were major.

When I received my copy edits mostly what I was asked to look at were repetitive sentence structure and some style changes to be in line with the house.

One big thing about me is I’m a total over achiever so as I went through the manuscript and I saw my habitual culprits. I reworked and then some. I wasn’t about to leave one section weaker than another. This is my baby and she was going to shine. I put a lot of time into my copy edits and got really wonderful feedback from my editor.

I’ll even confess, one of the sentences I favor, is stating it with a he or she. I’m in rehab. lol.

What’s really great about the process is now, I see myself doing it and stop. A momentary pause helps me rethink the sentence. Sometimes I change the order of the words and others… well. Depending on the point in the story but I might rethink the sentences around to make that section stronger.

I hope this answers your question. If not let me know.

Mason

Life is great… really

Oh, last week my house flooded. I lost power to one side of the house and my SRS system on my car failed. My dog destroyed my sofa. Other than that every things is peachy. And I’m thankful because without lows the highs wouldn’t mean as much.

Mason
