Chapter Liaison – RWA National Board

I’ve declared my candidacy for the RWA National Board’s Chapter Liaison position.

I joined RWA. June of 2008 unaware of what the organization would truly provide me over the coming years. I became a member of several chapters: RWA Online, Fantasy Futuristic and Paranormal, Elements of RWA, Passionate Ink, and Toronto Romance Writers (my local chapter). Each gave me opportunities to learn and grow. I met amazing writers along the way.

Since 2008, I’ve published nine romances in multiple genres and lengths. I’ve worked with a few publishers and self-published. I’ve developed and delivered two workshops.

I’m a firm believer in service and giving back. In 2012, I cofounded of The Cultural, Interracial, and Multicultural Special Interest Chapter of Romance Writers of America. I’ve been chapter president since its establishment.

RWA’s mission to advance the professional interests of career-focused romance writers through networking and advocacy seems even more critical in the rapidly changing publishing landscape. Supporting the organization’s ability to deliver on its mission is vital to the future of its chapters and the organization as a whole. The opportunity for members to grow and learn from each other whether it be craft, career etc… elevates us as professionals and people.

Fostering author support and advocacy is important to me. Who better to speak for us than we ourselves?

I’m excited about the road ahead and wish all those that declare their candidacy the best.

The Austrian Duke

finished, The Austrian Duke.

Here is the draft blurb

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00065]

Two souls that swore off love find passion and acceptance… but will they let go of past pain to hold on to each other?
Three years ago after a grueling case and a heartbreaking romance, forensic accountant Meira Evans left Austria for good, returning hom

e to her family in New York. But Christoph Croy’s persuasive sales pitch and subsequent correspondence has her Austria-bound again. And for all the wrong reasons. The man, the enigma, and the unexplainable chemistry between them has her tangled in a mess she doesn’t quite grasp. So why doesn’t that matter when she’s with him…
Director of Croy Bank’s investment portfolio, Christoph Croy, Duke of Croy needs the skills of someone who can track a glitch—a costly one that could ruin his family. At the top of the candidate list is Meira Evans the ex-lover of Waldburg, the man who betrayed him. Meira’s presence offers Christoph a chance at revenge and an impartial audit that will save face for the bank. So why are those the furthest things from his mind when he’s with her…
Since Meira’s arrival, they’ve barely spent a moment apart, and Christoph finds balance sheets aren’t the only thing he wants her handling. Though both are wary of being let down again, they find themselves unable to keep their hearts closed off. At least until the accounts are reconciled when they both will have to face their pasts or return to their separate lives

Update. I am alive and not undead yet.

Hi Readers,

I wanted to take a moment and let you know that I am alive. 2013 was a very difficult year when it came to my health which has continued into 2014. Namely I have suffered from multiple respiratory infections that have left me on inhalers and puffers. My doctors and I have been hard at work managing the systems and the root cause. It has been over a year since the first signs of what was to come began. I’d thought they would give me a pill and I’d be back to normal however that is not how this has moved forward. Throughout this I’ve had to put my health before my often hectic schedule. This is one of the reasons there has been a slowdown in my activeness and communication.

I’ve continued working on author advocacy which is a cause near and dear to me.

I haven’t stop writing. I’ve continued to work on books but the pace has been slower than I’m used to. Slower than you’ve been used to from me. I’m still committed to ensuring that each book I put out is better than the last because you’re worthy of only the best from me. I’m not at this time able to provide estimated release dates but will keep you posted of progress.

I appreciated your patience and support.

Thank you,

a.c. Mason
