Mason, live from RWA – Day two.

The day got off to a wondrous start with Janet Evanovich. I laughed was moved emotionally, and  inspired.

Information I knew instinctively about the business side of writing was confirmed for me.

The keynote speaker Linda Howard was witty and entertaining.

I met another wonderful group of passionate writers today throughout my day.

I got another bunch of books so I think, I now have a year and half of reading to do. If I could straight, read them. Two years ago when I decided to write as more than a hobby I gave up T.V. and  reading. I couldn’t spend the time I needed on my own work if I was busy doing other things. Aside from the occasional outing to the movies, I write or with my family.

I really enjoyed the panel with the Harlequin Editors.

I’m hoping for another great day of learning.

The view from my hotel room and my reflection.

Mason, live from RWA – Day one. The meaning of a block?

Disclaimers.

I might be crazy. But probably I am not.

The US capital is beautiful. I’m over whelmed by the green space and the curvaceous roads.

I was wearing high heels. I think this speaks for itself.

As you read this post, be kind.

I have a photo of the beginning of day one. Some of you know I promised to blog from the RWA conference. So here I am.

The Toronto airport.

I had smooth flight and even got service in French. Bonus. When I arrived at the airport my luggage came, which made me happy. I went to my none conference hotel. Shhh! Left my hotel and went to the Marriot to register.

Let me back up. The lady at the front desk, of my hotel, told me ‘it’s a block to the Marriot.’ I walked and walked then some more. I stopped three other people and asked where the hotel was. They told me ‘a block’ too. The distance was over ten blocks, I think. Maybe more. My question is, what is a block in D.C.? Please share with me, I’m confused.

Success. I watched people. I sure they were like who’s the creepy Canadian? That’s was me!

I met an RWA member for Chicago, Jenny, a very nice woman. We had lunch. Talked, Talked and some more. Then we parted ways. I went back to my secret location. Met up with Dawn from the online writers group. At this point, I ate dessert. Italian. Yum.

We went to the newbie session. Then I showed up at the online RWA party. After going to the place listed in the agenda but it was where the RWA online e-invite had listed. Good thing I ran into Jessica who brought the a copy.  We had a blast. I meet cool RWA members from the online chapter.

Came back and wrote this so if it’s mess I’m sorry. I’m really tired.

 I don’t have a voice right now.

I need sleep.

You’ll have to go over to find out what I’m rambling on about now.

I know! I’ve been a blogging slacker.

Let me start by saying, I’m sorry. I know I haven’t been blogging on my own sites. I’ll try to do better. I’ll update the event calendar to reflect the days, I blog on Nights of Passion. http://nightsofpassion.wordpress.com/. You can read all about an up and coming author I’m co-authoring an erotic BDSM novella with.

FYI: Mondays and Thursday until Sue gets sick of me or her readers do. I’m good at answering post so I hope that gets me a few brownie points. ;D

I’ve also been working on the sequel to Aequitas I: Betrayal. I’m sure that those of you that read the first one are anxious to see what happens in Aequitas II: Punishment.  Reminder to self post a blog about series vs. sequels. I should also get into the never ending attachment of both authors and fans to characters.

Starting Wednesday July 15th 2009 at some ungodly hour in the morning I’ll be chronicling my first RWA conference. I’ll post at the end of the day if possible if not when I wake up to jog. Oh yeah you head that right.  Pictures and text covering the entire time I’m there.

Am I ready to go? Absolutely not. But I will be over the next few days. I don’t like to fuss too much in advance because things are likely to change last minute. I’ve been to many conferences at my superhero day job so I’m not worked up about what will or not happen.
