Aequitas I: Betrayal

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

The ride of my life, going from weirdo creative type to published author is a beautiful thing. I hope I get to be eccentric. Yesterday, I saw my book. AIB is a marvel for me, from concept to reality.

I hope you’ll journey with me over the years and with each trip we take you’ll feel I’ve gone beyond the ledge we knew.

Lily’s War by Kristin Daniels

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Kristin Daniels’s new book is out!  Here are the details and I hope you check it out.

Everyone knows war is hell… Friends for years, lovers for only weeks, Lily is devastated when Eric tells her to not wait for him when he’s recalled to active duty in Iraq. Now, after eighteen long months, he’s finally come home.

But lives have changed, Lily has changed. All it took was one unexpected night in the arms of their best friend to make her see the light. Yes, she still loves Eric, but she’s fallen in love with Zach, too. Waging her own private war, she sets out to prove to Eric that what she wants—what the three of them need—is a chance to build a life together.

Nobody ever said she had to fight fair to win.

Star Trek – Prototype male hero

Saturday, May 9th, 2009

Loved the new movie, I rushed out to see it today.

I’m a treky. No I don’t dress up or go to conventions. I did however collect Star Trek cards as a tween. I watched the original Star Trek show has a child with my mother on Sunday mornings. I watched next generation religiously and have seen the movies more times than I will try an count.

Of course, the idea of them making a new Star Trek movie both excited and scared me. Then they cast Zachary Quinto in the role of Spock. Those of you who don’t know Mr. Quinto as the oh so sexy oh so bad Syler, from unassuming clock maker to über hot serial killer you should check him out. You won’t often find me ogling over an actor, as I’m more about tangible males so he is on an elite list.

Back to my love affair with Star Trek, which will tie back to Mr. Quinto. From the original show Spock was my kind of male hero. I’ve tried to analyze my illogical interest but it’s always been near the same. In next generation, I had thing for Data. Now don’t snicker too much he was fully functional.

What the connection? Males who have everything under control until they get just the right nudge the explosion is like Mount St. Helens. Nothing is the same in the wake of them.

I’m more than willing to leave the pretty easy to read ones for the rest of you and leave the deep currents to those of us who can play with the big boys.

Mason

Romantic Times Magazine – AIB

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

After scouring the three towns in my area, I finally located the last copy in the cities of the Romantic Times Magazine. Frantically I turned the pages looking for my cover with each page I grew anxious What if, I’m not in here? As hopelessness bloomed, I found what I’d been looking for on page 117 and music came on. Everyone started dancing in the book store. Okay so the music and the dancing didn’t happen but the excitement did.

How did this come about, you ask.

My publisher, Lyrical Press, Inc placed an ad in the Romantic Times for its first birthday, which was May 1st 2009.

Happy Birthday!

Lyrical has been wonderful for my first time publishing experience. I’ve learn so much from my editor and all my dealings with the staff.

Aequitas I Betrayal is part of the ad, my very first advertisement as an author. I’m thrilled!

Line edits – AIB

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009
Yesterday, while at the movies seeing X-Men Origins: Wolverine I got an email from my editor with my line edits. Yes, I’m addicted to my BlackBerry. No, I’m not seeking help.
When I got home, I went over them and was impressed at how little comments or markings I found in the pages. All the hard work my editor and I put in paid off.

I couldn’t have done it without the wonderful Mary Murray, my editor. One good things, is I now know why major authors are always thanking or acknowledging editors and line editors. I’ll go over the line edits, a second time with fresh eyes later today before I send them back.

Mason
