Who and what influences you?

M Night Shyamalan. Have you seen Signs? Well if you haven’t and you’re willing to take a leap with your mind on a number of what ifs. I’d suggest you rent it.  

If you read my work… you’ll understand that I ponder a lot of questions. Wow. Did I just make my work sound boring or what?

The books I’ve loved are those enjoyed by different people for entirely different reasons, movies too, for that matter. If the work provoked thought or had a message not everyone noticed because it was entertaining.

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood: I discovered this book when my mother was doing a paper on the books vs. movies for a course. We were in Montreal and went to see the movie. I was thirteen at the time. I grew up in a home where I was an only child until I was fourteen. I was exposed to all kinds of interesting thought provoking ideas.

I know I’ll get back to this topic because I’ve barely scratched the surface. And my answer changes based on what I’m writing.
